The Position

Junction Commercial Real Estate is seeking a current university student or recent graduate with a strong interest in commercial real estate to join our commercial land and industrial brokerage team in Houston, Texas. The Brokerage Intern will work directly alongside Junction's licensed real estate professionals and gain hands-on exposure to the commercial real estate brokerage process. The role will focus on market research, property research and analysis, transaction support, marketing, and business development. This is an opportunity to gain practical experience in commercial real estate while developing a strong understanding of the Houston land and industrial markets.

Responsibilities

• Data entry and clerical tasks
• Extensive real estate research and analysis working side-by-side with Junction Commercial Real Estate professionals
• Develop, enhance, and leverage knowledge of the local economy and real estate markets, including the timely acquisition of accurate information about listed properties, tenants in the market and market trends
• Provide transaction support to assigned mentor and senior brokerage team, such as detailed reporting, canvassing, marketing, and analysis
• Participate in and lead property tours, as directed
• Attend industry related events

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled at a local four-year University (or recently graduated)
• Reliable transportation
• Exceptional academic achievement
• Outstanding verbal and written communication
• Proficiency in software such as Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Creative Suite
• Self-motivated, diligent and entrepreneurial
• Capable of being efficient without daily micro-management
• Strong interest in brokerage, development, or investment sales within commercial real estate
• Ability to perform job in a professional business office setting, during traditional business hours
• Real estate salesperson’s license with the State of Texas preferred but not required

The Position

The Development & Construction Intern will work closely with the Junction Development and Construction teams in Houston, Texas, gaining hands-on experience across the commercial real estate development process from initial planning through construction and project completion. This position will provide exposure to a variety of development and construction activities, including market and site research, project planning, due diligence, design and permitting, construction coordination, site visits, project documentation, and ongoing communication with consultants, contractors, tenants, and other project partners.

The ideal candidate is curious about how commercial real estate projects are brought from concept to completion and is eager to learn in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment. The intern will work directly alongside experienced real estate and construction professionals and will have the opportunity to see projects develop from the early stages of planning through construction and delivery.

Primary duties for the Development & Investment Analyst Intern position include:

• Assist with the planning and coordination of commercial real estate development and construction projects
• Participate in due diligence activities and help organize and review project documentation
• Assist with the coordination of architects, engineers, contractors, consultants, municipalities, and other project partners
• Support pre-construction activities, including design coordination, permitting, budgeting, scheduling, and contractor coordination
• Assist with construction administration and project tracking
• Assist with preparation of project presentations, reports, and other internal and external materials
• Attend project meetings and take part in discussions with development and construction professionals
• Provide day-to-day support to the Development & Construction team
• Perform other related duties and assignments as delegated

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a four-year university or college program, preferably studying real estate, construction management, civil engineering, architecture, finance, business, or a related field; recent graduates may also be considered
• Demonstrated interest in commercial real estate development, construction, or project management
• Ability to think critically, creatively, and independently
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities
• Comfortable working independently without daily supervision
• Ability to work in a professional business office setting during traditional business hours
• Reliable transportation
